March 2011 Trip Update 5

After working with the finalists, the team said goodbye to the kids at the African Children's Choir (ACC) training academy. These kids are only 1 month into their training. They will depart for a 1 year tour when they complete their training in 3-4 months. The training and tour help the kids build skills, confidence, discipline and communication skills. It also gives them a broader perspective on the world. After completing the tour, the kids will come back to the ACC primary school where they will receive the best education possible in Africa. After that, Work for Life will help some of these kids start businesses that alleviate poverty. After saying goodbye, the team visited a market to see how people in the slums conduct business. Crazy stuff happening down there. Then they went to the ACC primary school to see the amazing kids who will be the future leaders of Africa. The team was showered by the kids with smiles, hugs and songs. Work for Life team member, Rob Bernabe, shared a bible lesson with the kids and it was off to the airport.
