What a day!
The team spent the morning making visits to several homes in the slums where some of the Work for Life candidates grew up.
The visits gave the team a better understanding of the backgrounds of the young entrepreneurs.
The afternoon was spent at Owino market – the largest market in Kampala.
Rather than simply walk through as observers, the group was divided into two teams and given the challenge of buying and taking pictures of specific items.
It proved to be a challenging endeavor to say the least.
The market visit gave everyone the opportunity to understand the types of business challenges that Work for Life entrepreneurs face in starting and running businesses in Uganda.
Having this context will prove valuable when they begin training sessions on Tuesday.
